Learn about this exciting profession in our unique 7 day program. This program has been developed for individuals with a background in real estate, construction and/or inspections who want to apply his or her skills in a growing industry with an above average income potential. This basic course introduces an individual into the world of property claims adjusting and includes opportunities such as: Company adjuster, Independent adjuster, Storm adjuster, and Public adjuster.

Course Description: This course is valuable for both the individual already licensed as an adjuster who wants to focus on property adjustments (first 4 days) and those who would like to enter this field, obtain this valuable license, and specialize in property adjustments (full 7 days).

Day 1

• The role of the adjuster
• Florida laws and rules
• Types of adjusters
• Types of adjustments
• Analyzing the insurance contract
• Handling the claims process

Day 2

• Inspecting for a claim
• Cost estimating
• Major building systems
• Types of estimates
• Sample estimates

Day 3

• Major building systems revisited
• Insurance company estimating formats
• Computer based estimates
• Working with the insurance company

Day 4

• Learning laboratory - students perform hands on
• An actual property adjustment
• Students perform an actual adjustment based on a sample policy and visual inspection of property damage

Days 5-7

• Exam Cram - these 3 days feature the industry leading Gold Coast School of insurance cram which prepare individuals to pass a variety of insurance exams including the all lines adjuster license. These 3 days help you pass the exam so you can start working as soon as possible!

This course is approved for adjuster Continuing Education:

11 hours : Adjuster Law & Policy 3 hours : Adjuster Ethics 10 hours : Adjuster Optional

Below lists the basic requirements for becoming a Company, Independent, or Public adjuster:

• Complete an online application
• Be 18 years of age
• A United States citizen or legal working alien and a Florida resident
• Be in good moral character in regards to criminal background
• *There are no required pre-licensing courses (Gold Coast Professional Property Adjuster course is designed to prepare you for all the fields on the adjuster state exam)
• *For public adjusters, a $50,000 surety bond must be posted
