Gold Coast, in conjunction with Professional Agents, Brokers, and Companies Association (FLDFS #753), is South Florida’s school of choice for Insurance Agent, Adjuster, and Customer Service Representative continuing education. At Gold Coast we provide the best, most interesting, and timely courses available. Many people wait until the last minute to complete their classes. Why put your livelihood at risk? Complete your CE requirements now! We offer both in-class and online courses. Gold Coast will do everything we can to assist you in selecting courses, but it is your responsibility to enroll in the correct subjects and hours to comply with the Florida requirements, including the new Ethics requirement. The CE laws are complex and ignorance or disregard of the laws could result in fines and/or the loss of your license. If you have any questions about Continuing Education feel free to call our Career Counselors at 1-800-732-9140. Every individual is responsible for completing their own continuing education on time and in the required fields. Below are the general requirements for Insurance Agents, Adjusters, and Customer Service Representatives, however everyone has specific courses that must be taken to keep their license valid. These requirements can be found by visiting the Florida Department of Financial Services at www.fldfs.com/agents. For further assistance, feel free to call our Career Counselors at 1-800-732-9140. Insurance Agent Continuing Education Requirements: Generally, all agents must complete 24 hours of approved continuing education by the end of their birth month, every two years. Individuals who hold a major lines license and who have been licensed in Florida for six years or more as of the first day of their compliance period, qualify for a reduction from 24 hours to 20 hours of Intermediate or Advanced level continuing education courses every two years. All Gold Coast insurance continuing education classes are intermediate. Insurance Adjuster Continuing Education Requirements: All Adjusters in the State of Florida (FL. Statues Sec. 626.689) are now required to complete 24 hours of continuing education courses every 2 years. The requirement includes 2 hours ethics, 10 hours law, and the remaining 12 hours optional. Insurance Adjusters must take adjuster classes, not agent classes. It is your responsibility to take classes that meet your legal requirements. Again, Gold Coast Schools is more than happy to check on your state requirements for Continuing Education if you call our Career Counselors at 1-800-732-9140.
